From what I can see, the alarm module used is very similar to the ones forum members have experienced problems with in their D2s and D3s. However, before just replacing it, have you done any sort of diagnosis on it?

For example, you say it makes no sound 'at all'. Do you mean when you lock/unlock the car, or have you deliberately tried to set the alarm off, say by opening the windows, locking the car, waiting a minute and then reaching into the car? Finally, can you get it scanned to see what error codes are being thrown up for the alarm module.

If it's the first option and just not beeping, it can be coded to beep/not beep.

Should you end up having to replace the alarm module, the part number is 1K0951605C (£175), although you can also use 1K0951605F (£163).
