Default Audi A8 4.2 TDi offered for sale on here first

I can't put it off any longer with a new house purchase due to complete...

Audi a8 D3 4.2 Tdi Sport Quattro (GP06 HJA)
MOT Aug 2024 but happy to renew on sale.
150,000 miles. May rise slightly.
Audi service history until 2015 at 82,018 miles. There is then a gap until the previous owner who has invoices from October 2020 at 129,541 miles. My ownership is then documented.

I have covered just 15000 miles in it since purchase in August 2021 (please see MOT database) Much of this supporting my role within the funeral industry.

First registered 23 May 2006.
5 previous keepers. The last 2 known to be A8 club members and enthusiasts.
HPI and Car Vertical clean reports.

This is my 4th a8 and in truth took some finding to secure a well-looked-after example with this incredible spec. Believed to have been an Audi MD 1st owner who ordered it with the (almost exclusively s8 model ) Bang & Olufsen (B&O) sound system and adaptive radar cruise control.

The condition of the cars speaks testimony for itself. It is not a show car but is a very usable car that is in lovely and genuine condition consummate to its age. The Phantom black paintwork has a stunning pearlescent flip. This has been professionally corrected and detailed by myself (Distinguished Detailing) to ensure that it is both presented to only the highest of standards and is protected as best can be against everyday wear and tear. Both bumpers have been professionally repainted to a good standard.

The interior again is full leather and well maintained and presented. The car also boasts a PS2 in the rear although, being honest, I have only ever powered it up. Also has a 6 disc CD changer, DAB, a TV tuner and voice control.

There is an up-to-date service history. The last full fluids service has just been completed.

Previous owner had mapped the car. Big Fish Tuning (A8 specialist / owner) performed a health and map check on their dyno. Returned 364bhp and over 731Nm torque. Suffice to say that it surges and keeps pulling if you ask it to.

Engine carbon clean carried out less than 10,000 miles ago. (June 2022)
The gearbox had a routine oil and gaskets service in June 2022 at NE Autotech in Yarm who have a qualified ZF technician on site. Following a sampling of the gearbox oil, on the 18th May 2022 they carried out a full oil flush and change (OEM ATF 1800 oil, gaskets and filter kit) Option to paddle shift change works cleanly and responsively.

4 as new, matching Khumo Esctasa tyres (Aug 23 / Feb 24)

4 wheel alignment also completed (Feb 2024) When with them they noted that the car is on adjustable lowering links and has 20mm spacers fitted.

Original 19” Turbine diamond cut alloys are also included in sale.

Battery still has over 3 years warranty on it.

Both headlight bulbs just been replaced and upgraded.

In the interest of being as transparent as I can to a new owner, if I were keeping it I would be addressing –

Intermittent airbag / ABS light that comes and goes. This can occasionally prevent activating the cruise control.

The MMI control nob can be notchy but still operates and accesses all menus.

A couple of minor / non-MOT stone chips in the windscreen.

I was also planning on upgrading the MMI to accept external sources of music (£140 unit)

To answer the inevitable question – I am selling it as we are taking on a new home which requires modernisation and this will pay towards a new kitchen (I know!!)

Now the awkward part – price. Anybody looking for a d3 a8 will appreciate that the prices are genuinely all over the place. They are available from £3k upwards – but not with the history and provenance of this car, spec or condition. The far more fragile and expensive v10 s8 are also dropping to £8k.

I am inviting serious interest and negotiations at £5500.

This will be 12 months MOT, V5 in my name and address, service history and invoices, a Car Vertical report, both sets of wheels and 2 sets of keys.

I should have sold this car a year ago when it was replaced with my…er… Mondeo TDCi. I have only held on to it as I know that I could never replace it like for like again. It is a ridiculously good-looking, comfortable and phenomenally capable car for so little money I would genuinely sell this one to family or friends it is that good.

Will get some up-to-date photos over the weekend.

Thanks , Paul
