The exhaust arrived Thursday, the gaskets on Friday and I got around to fitting it on Sunday. Once that was in place in topped up the gearbox, went through the proceedure with the gearstick in each position, checked the level again and then did the final check and put the plug back in when it was at about 40 degrees. Since then I have driven it about 30 miles and it really does feel smoother and gearchanges are imperceptible - except for a slight change in the burble from the exhaust you can really not tell its changed gear, so I am over the moon with it! Whether the blue fluid is really any better than the regular stuff I dont know, but it seems to be the standard fluid for any of the big engined or high performance Auto's (S4's S6's etc) so I guess there is some merit in it somewhere...

Whilst tinkering on Sunday I also got around to fitting DAB. The hardest part was finding a space to cram it in around all the rear entertainment stuff! Other than that it was an easy retro-fit - change the aerial adapter thingy at the top of the rear screen and run the new aerial cable into the boot, add in another connector on the fibre loop and tap into 3 little wires (before anyone comments (IT) I did use Scotch grips and they do look unsightly, but no-one will see them - I dont trust myself with soldering equipment)

Once plugged in it worked instantly, with no diagnostics necesary - I did go in and add it to the installed list but it didnt appear as though that was necesary - it made me feel better though having another tick in a box! It works brilliantly and hasnt yet hesitated or cut out or done anything un-toward.

Yes, the sills are still pending.....
