I too am a massive ebay cynic.
Perhaps the winning bidder will be told "Can't find it / Sorry, the dog ate it."
...only to see said item appear next month, until they get what they want.
Happens with collectible records (the vinyl type) all the time.
I suspect it could develop "A grenaded engine / lots of warning lights on the way to the garage... Sounds bad... Do you still want it?" kind of issue? Had this when I was looking at buying a Surf years back.
Ah the joys of the general public.
