I go for the std cheapies for outdoor use with a cotton inner lining and stated as waterproof not water resistant as where I am the wind and the rain pretty much leave them useless for another season, no matter how tough and expensive they are.

I make sure the tie downs are by the wheels as the centre straps are a pain to get hold of under the car - especially when its a bit blowy

I also use a couple of the supermarket water absorbers because D2's seem to suck water in from anywhere.
