I had similar with a front ABS sensor that I was convinced couldn't be faulty, as it's the only one I've previously had cause to change! Sure enough after 5 years and some copious fiddling I had to accept it was getting worse. New sensor and been perfect since!

Exactly. Just driven into town to pick the Mrs up and it behaved smoothly in S and D and was OK going into Reverse.
My indy garage priced the switches from TPS and the 10 pin version was £175+VAT whilst the 8 pin was around £235 + VAT(but N/A).
