I got bored of the Fire TV so I swapped it for an Apple TV, much better airplay support and still has all my favourite apps.
Instead of getting a (big nasty) power inverter I opened the Apple TV up and found that the Transformer outputs 3.3v so I bought a 12-4v in-line step down tranny and it runs it fine. Now I get the Album/Track/Art Show on my MMI screen whilst airplaying
