It is the Engine Control Unit. I do not know about the engine bay. Because I had the car hauled back to Audi as soon as it stopped running.

Thank you for the info ainarssems. I will go to the Audi dealer tomorrow and learn more (and how much they will charge me for doing a job that was unnecessary from the start)
