Yes it does!
Enables you to get the hot air out of the cabin - rear cabin ventilation is insufficient for this.
Sunroof tilted just a crack:
40° outside = 42-43° inside in the Sun (with my heat reflector shield in place)
Sunroof closed:
40° outside = 48-50° inside.
The solar fan works wonders for heat removal too, and works really well in tandem with sunroof tilted up a bit. Just don't forget to disable the interior sensor!
My A4 never had it and was noticeably hotter.
