Default FOR SALE: Audi S8 D2 2001 Facelift (includes AWESOME private plate)

Due to a change in personal circumstances, I am very reluctantly selling my beloved D2 S8. The car is well known on here and so has excellent forum provenance. It makes a fantastic sound with the custom exhaust, is a lot of car for the money and you are reading this right: I will be keeping the awesome number plate with the car. The plate alone has been valued by Regtransfers at between £1750-£2000! I was lucky to scoop it up back in 2017 for the princely sum of £1500 and it will only go up further in value. The same can be said of the car - D2 S8s are getting rare and are considered a modern classic now and as such, it too should appreciate, not depreciate. Plus, the car has a fresh MOT for 12 months.

So, the details:
Audi S8, type D2, 2001 (facelift) in Racing Green Pearl, 4.2l V8 petrol with 360ps (355hp), 143k miles, 12 months MOT, owned by me for the past (very nearly) 6 years, bought in October 2013 from forum member Goran (well known on here). I am the 5th owner. There are tons and tons of receipts and paperwork - including (but not limited to) Audi main dealer, Unit 20, MRC Tuning, 4-rings and many others. Since I bought the car from Goran I have only covered 13k in the past 6 years!

Link to previous owner Goran's for sale thread with some more pictures (from 2013): http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6895

Specs:
Full black leather interior, heated front seats
Bi-Xenon headlights
Solar sunroof (keeps the car cool on hot days and works brilliantly)
2-zone climate control
Bose Audio
Electric rear blind
RNS-D with Bose and UK maps cd, 6 CD changer in boot, analogue TV receiver
Audi 18" Avus wheels with Dunlop SP Sport 9000 245/45 front and SP Winter Sport M3 at the rear (same size as fronts), Avus spare in boot.
Wheels were refurbed at Lepsons in 2013. Since then, they have not been curbed even once - but there are a couple of *very* minor marks from either stones flicking up and from clumsy tyre fitters. But very difficult to see.
Hayward & Scott stainless steel exhaust from down pipes, with world-class HJS 100 cell cats (lifetime guarantee), x-pipe, dual exhaust at the back (cost £2100 new in 2009). Made so stock cats can be swapped back in (but I don't have those I'm afraid).
Factory towbar, no tow hook.
Windscreen is not heated, replaced by non-heated windscreen by Glasstech.
Tracker fitted, subscription expired.

Repairs/History:
Full Audi service history to April 2008, and then full specialist service history from 2008 to present. All receipts and MOTs available.
Engine 'refresh' at Unit20 in October 2012 which includes both cam chain variable tensioners, cam chains, crank case breather valves, cam cover gaskets, timing belt and tensioner including all rollers, oil flush and filter (total cost £2500).
Spark plugs and 1 faulty injector changed at MRC Tuning in July 2013.
Transmission fluid, filter and gasket first changed in 2008 at 79k miles, I have the bill.
Timing belt first changed by a previous owner (before Goran) at Basingstoke Audi 74,775miles (they didn't change water pump), so changed again in October 2010 by 4Rings including water pump.
Rear output new type flange and new type seal installed in August 2011 by 4Rings.
Both front Labmdas replaced in August and September 2011.
Power steering fluid flush and Fuel filter replaced in 2009.

Only run on a combination of V-Power and Tesco99.
Oil & filter changed approx. every 6000miles always synthetic, always 5W30 Castrol or Quantum Longlife 3. Air Filter every 12 months.
Rear calipers were replaced a couple of years ago.

Bad bits:
There is a double scratch on the rear o/s quarter panel (see photos).
Some rust bubbling on the fuel flap (see photos).
Scuff and small flap on o/s corner of rear bumper (see photos).
Some lacquer peel on the bonnet (see photos).
The plastic footrest cover came off (in glovebox - just needs reattaching).
The interior air-con/heater fan needs replacing - I already purchased the replacement from the forum sponsors at a cost of £130 but never got around to fitting it - this is included with the sale and I'm informed is a relatively easy job. Ironically, the current fan has started working again but ideally needs changing as the commutator is worn and could stick again - this was partly why I hadn't changed it.
There is an intermittent error with a parking sensor somewhere although they work fine most of the time. But could do with tracking down to avoid future frustration.
The engine management light is on - this is due to the aftermarket exhaust throwing a code from the lambda sensors. However the car still passes the MOT (YES, EVEN WITH THE NEW MOT CHANGES) and the emissions are absolutely spot-on. The reason it still passes the MOT is because the vehicle is petrol and registered before 1st July 2003. It is therefore only advisory. So the car can be run like this indefinitely; those who wish to have the EML permanently extinguished will need to go to MRC (or a well-established tuner) to have the lambdas coded out - this can be done independently or as part of a full remap. Alternatively, certain spacers for the lambdas may correct the issue as well (so I'm told). ECU was just recently scanned by forum member Delboy to reset the EML and during that procedure, there were no other fault codes apart from the lambda sensor codes.
The rear blind is sticking.
O/S front fog light surround missing.

I'm looking for —EDITED: PRICE DROP TO £2500–. Which isn't bad considering you get the plate. I realise there are a few issues to sort out but I think a fair price. Will be using the car so the mileage will increase but will be hardly anything tbh. Why go for this car? Well I can tell you that it doesn't feel 18 years old. It will ravage most things from a standing start in both the wet and dry and is, even today, a properly quick car. It has that unique solid and 'hewn from granite' feel plus the kudos of the Ronin movie. With the Hayward & Scott exhaust the V8 just sings and turns heads wherever you go. It sounds absolutely EPIC and like a V8 should. And no swapping out cats come MOT time either. The HJS cats are as unrestrictive as you can possibly get this side of a straight pipe (no pun intended) whilst still maintaining emissions. The car will outhandle most things on the road and I was able to keep up with a little green Lotus Elan the other day on some twisties when he wanted a play (quite easily might I add). I have a tremendous soft-spot for the old girl and you will too once you own, drive and appreciate her for what she is. It would be lovely to see her go to a forum member. One last thing - the racing green pearl looks absolutely stunning in the flesh and something different from the sea of grey, silver and black that swarms the roads (nothing personal). With the bodywork issues sorted, she can be looking her absolute best once again.

Thanks for looking.

EDIT: NO LONGER FOR SALE. Keeping the car indefinitely and sorting the things that need doing.
