As promised took her back this morning.
They plugged in their laptop and it read the ECU details. The resultant file was sent to the programmers. Modified file returned and they attempted to load it into the ECU. It failed to write, claimed loss of communication via the OBD port.
I left the car with them and called for it some four hours later. They had managed to do the reprogramming by opening the ECU and doing it on the bench. The car is now running properly . Let's see how long for.
The programming company people say there must be a problem with the OBD plug, and also said not to plug the diagnostic kit into the OBD in case it screws the ECU.
Anyone had a problem like this?
