I was in this exact position two months ago, two intake ports blocked by broken flaps...fortunately had it opened up and gutted just in time.

It previously broke four years ago at 120k miles (20k miles earlier) and there wasn't much information available then so I had it repaired and refitted.

Loads of information and pics shared on here to show how it's done, if I were you it'd be the first job I'd have done.
