Some mistakes in that article.
Firstly, no point measuring the ceramic discs as you need to weigh them to gauge if they need replacing. Also, Audi's fixed price major service is well below £1000 so should be nearer £500 at an independent. The manifold flaps are the biggest ticking time bomb in these, should be factored in the cost if it hasn't been done.
This example is an early PF which do seem to start at £7k but the facelifts are more desirable and hold their value better IMO.
