I agree, for exactly the same reason! Although VM did have an amazing ability to cut you off randomly when trying to add a new line to the cabinet. They'd just pull yours out to make space......would then take on average 2-3 weeks to resolve, through people not turning up and then saying it needed our garden digging up (again!) to replace the cable. Invariably once someone competent turned up it'd be sorted in 10 minutes!
We have to make do with BT via Sky - 14ms ping, 53MBps download and 17MBps upload, so not 'bad' compared to rural areas, but considering the nearest cabinet is only round the corner it's pretty crap.
