I would think they are virtually equal in 18mm thickness. Just in my experience OSB is a better material to work with, but then Ply is better than OSB if more expensive. MDF is more of a finishing material. Best to tackle noise reduction first by blocking off the sound waves with a heavy case / box from OSB-2 and plasterboard. Maybe a box within a box. Then sound absorption with cork panels or mineral fiber.
