Following up on my earlier posts, have an update...

I contacted my local Audi dealer and they quoted E1560 for the compressor, E19 for the relay and E765 labour to replace.

I went to my normal guy and having read the posts here, particularly Glync's, and the advice from Blakey, i went to Aerosus UK and ordered a replacement. I ordered it on Friday 28/12 and it arrived to me in Dublin on Monday afternoon. Total price was £249 incl. Vat and Shipping. It included the replacement relay and a 2 year warranty.

My guy replaced it last week and left it over the weekend to check there were no other leakages which thankfully there wasn't.

While he was at it, i got him to replace the drivers door handle with one i got off Ebay as it wasn't reading the key. Add a few other bits n bobs.

What really helped keep the labour time down was Glync's post which i copied into powerpoint, printed and gave to my mechanic and that was very helpful as he could find things like the relay much quicker.

And on Blakey's recommendation, I went with Aerosus...after a good chat we had about his experience..

All in, i got out for around E900 and the car is running perfect.

So, thanks to this forum and everyone's feedback and help...a super little community....
