I considered this as my "first new car" when I qualified as an accountant (as reward for all those crazy exams...
).
In the end I went for a Fiat Uno, principally because (a) it handled better and (b) was likely to be more reliable.
In hindsight, definitely the right decision on both counts - several of my peers bought R5s in various variants including this one, and they were always breaking down - pity really, 'cos they looked cool.
I'd rather have had a 205 GTi tho'...
