That also caught fire! Thats actually the one I was referring to when I mentioned heat management and packaging issues. The lengths to which he has had to go to stop it melting itself say 'not worth it' to me. The fire was caused by the heat from the turbos melting one of the camshaft end-caps so it fell out and poured oil on the turbo

The turbos on the 2.7TT are in the same place, but since its a physically smaller engine I'm hoping there will be more airflow in to the engine bay so it will stay cooler. I'm likely still going to either wrap the turbos or make heat shields for them.
