Surely the trip to Truro is the great majority of your miles this year David, giving that it's more than 500 miles from yours to MJ's, with only a few hundred covered apart from that trip?
I only did 87 miles in the 13 months between MOTs (though I'm cheating really, 'cos that's for my Coupe
) - which I think works out at about £5 per mile, which is just a bit mad, really....
Herman covered 2447 miles in the 15 months between MOTs - which is probably more than Neil expected
