Happy new year chaps. I've just taken the inlet manifold off my S8 to have two throttle body bolt holes helicoiled and have found oil in the there. It's not a huge amount of oil but enough to have me concerned. I've noticed there has been an oil leak for a bit of time and replacing the cam cover gaskets didn't help much. I did a compression test a few weeks ago and the readings were perfect, the highest reading was 14 bar with the lowest 13.something. The only conclusion I can come to is the crankcase breather is blocked somewhere. Any thoughts from you chaps and what I can do about it?
Thanks guys. Steve |

Before I forget, there is no oil leaking from the cam covers so this suggests there is no blowback.

There is always some oil in intake from the breather system and never huge amount as it gets sucked in cylinders so cannot accumulate. If oil level in engine is not dropping too fast I would not worry about it.

Thanks for that. The oil level doesn't appear to be falling at an alarming rate so I'm no longer worried.
