Default Heater stuck on hot.

Afternoon all,

I have a 2002 D2, it's had a problem with the heater/aircon for some time now, but as the weather is warming up it needs sorting. The heater is stuck on hot, the only vents that seem to work ok are the centre ones above the stereo, all others are hot at all times no matter what the temperature is set to.

Any thoughts or ideas as to what the fix could be would be appreciated..

Thanks.

Where are you located? Sounds like you've got at least 1 faulty flap but the only way to confirm really is to get it scanned for fault codes.

Thanks for replying, I'm in kent I do have access to Vag-com I didn't think it would show faults on the heater I will have a go and see if it shows any faults.
If it is a stuck flap is it an easy job to fix?
Cheers.

No clicking noises that I've heard, will see if Vag-com shows anything tomorrow. Cheers.

I might be imagining it, but I've got it in my head you can run a self test within vcds to check the flaps all move as they should but I can't remember where I read it! Hopefully it'll be something covered by the soft help guides in vcds

Scanned the car with vcds this evening , and there seems to be a problem with the a/c controller as the message I get says "can't communicate with controller" is the main a/c unit the controller, or is it located somewhere else, as I think this could be my problem?
Cheers.

check your heater control valve. There is a cord that hooked into it near the middle firewall. you should be able to move that switch back and forth. If you can't then you need a new HCV.
