Default Rim Protectors - Yes or No?

http://www.alloygator.co.uk/products.asp

OR

I know that the first doesn't go upto 18", but it's the principle that counts.

I agree with Nick, they look pretty atrocious and seem a bit of a strange look to a wheel

some tyres, Falkens? come with some form of rim protection, I had them on Dunlops on the works car for a while, did the job and looked pretty normal, have to agree that these dont look good

cheers

I wouldn't mind if my tyres had no rim protectors. But they'd have to be black.

The problem is they would make your wheels look smaller.

ContiSportContact3 tyres come with widest rim protection I have seen. Perhaps even wider than alloygator. Just make sure you order tyre with rim protector since Conti makes tyres both with and without rim protector.

I can post pictures if requested.

I always manage to kerb alloys even if the tyres have rim protectors. I guess theese could help. I do not think they would look too good on A8 unless maybe in chrome but for boy-racer kind of cars they are not too bad. A friend of mine have them, I have not looked at how they attach but I would be afraid they can come flying off or damage alloy anyway. If your wheels are kerbed an you do not want to refurbish them this could be a solution to hide it and protect from further damage in short term.

I think you can get them in silver, so it wouldn't look too bad.. did think of it, but most of the tyres I see for 19s are rim protectors.
