D2s in London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) from September 2020
It looks like some D2 owners will need to pay a fee when they drive D2s to central London starting from September 2020. Even on weekends and bank holidays.
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ult...-emission-zone "The ULEZ will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within the same area as the current Congestion Charging Zone (CCZ), and comes into force in September 2020. The ULEZ standards are in addition to the Congestion Charge and the Low Emission Zone requirements." "If your vehicle meets the required Euro emission standard, it will be compliant with ULEZ. The ULEZ standard is: Euro 3 for motorcycles Euro 4 for petrol cars, vans and minibuses Euro 6 for diesel cars, vans and minibuses Euro VI for lorries, buses and coaches Please contact your vehicle manufacturer if you think that your vehicle met the required Euro emission standard before the mandatory emission standards came into effect." I've got D2 FL 3.7 2002. Checked my boot sticker with PR codes and I've got 0GG = Emission standard EU4. Looks like my car is compliant, but it seems I will have to get paperwork/confirmation (from Audi ?) since emissions class is not mentioned on my V5C. Are you guys aware of this new London ULEZ?

Aware now...
Hi,
I am puzzled that LPG doesn't seem to give compliance; they are a lot cleaner. Tokyo taxis have to be run on LPG. Good work Notorious! Robert

My S8 seems to fail: 0GE Emission standard EU3.
Not that I ever take it into London. But as Euro 4 is dated 2005 I don't see how it (or any D2) could ever be compliant. £12.50 daily charge to pay if you have to go there, not many miles of petrol in an S8. You sure?

Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850! Hi,
I think that the manufacturers change to the higher standard when they change vehicle production lines / introduce new models. "Right On" folks who care a lot about the environment and emissions like VAG would, oh, yes, errr, right,,, Better check my documents as we LOVE being able to travel to London, even if we usually avoid the Congestion Charge Zone anyway (the ULEZ is based on this area I think.) It's probably a lot more complicated than that.
For each standard there's a date at which any new Type Approval much meet the standard, followed (typically a year later) by another date at which any newly-registered vehicle must meet the standard. The technical standards are obviously totally well-defined some years ahead of that to allow manufacturers to develop, test and build compliant vehicles. So I guess notorious' car could be compliant, but he will probably have a hell of a job convincing the enforcement system that it is. If you go onto the web site the default assumption is that cars of that age WILL be non-compliant.

We love going with family to London on weekends, so I care about the subject.
>> You sure? After failing so many times on this forum I can't be sure on anything, but here is my boot sticker with 0GG clearly seen on it. I also have full printout of PR codes (that Audi will do for free) and there is 0GG in there as well. There's a plenty of websites that will decode the PR code. vag-codes.info/vag-option-codes vag-codes.info They all confirm that 0GG is EU4 emissions class. Is there a list of A8 engines that shows emissions class of each? It looks like D3s can be affected as well as they had diesel engine option in the UK.

Here is another interesting text from ULEZ web site:
"Some manufacturers started producing vehicles which met the Euro 4 or 6 standard before it came into effect. These vehicles are known as early adopters. Please direct any enquiries about your vehicle to the manufacturer. These early adopter vehicles meet the ULEZ emission standards."

Quote:
The ULEZ standards are in addition to a) the Congestion Charge and b) the Low Emission Zone requirements. Geez!
