Cheap mobile for WIFI hub

Im off abroad on holiday & want to take a spare phone with me & pay as you go sim card which i can use as a WIFI hub incase the hotels' wifi is crap or if i need to have access to the interweb while im out the hotel.

Anyone know which MEGACHEAP ebay phones would work as a wifi hub?
Old HTC?? Old samsung? Old nokias??
