Default Front Cylindrical Silencers/resonators vs Center box vs S8 Center Cylindrical Things

So I've installed my one-piece exhaust from the S8 on my new Sage A8. Very little difference. Now I want to remove either the center (S8) resonators or the smaller front ones which came on the A8. They all seem very solid, and I wondered if anyone has removed either/or and what was the result? I'm planning to hook the flaps to a remote switch, but for now they're wired open. In this short video, you can see the front "cylinders" I talked about. I drove the car like that for about a week and it was painful at certain RPMs, and people would not drive beside me in traffic. So I may have answered my own question; the front ones don't do much!

Thanks
Tom

A8L and S8 are exactly the same length! Joy! But the S8 has those cylindrical things, too!

Default S8 Exhaust on A8L: Perfect Fit

So I FINALLY realized the dream... was practically given an S8 exhaust, from the frontmost clamps to the tips (so pretty much the entire horizontal section); it fits with very little alteration (!) and that small change is accomplished with a wrench (the rearmost mufflers' brackets are 2-3cm off, but by reversing the bracket - two bolts - they hang just right). The "stock" S8 system had two cylindrical resonators each about 16" long where most 4.2 petrol cars have their "suitcase" silencer. It was not much louder so I removed them both. I do regret to report that my hair is full of very sharp stainless swarf, but at least my eye protection worked.
Videos with one middle silencer removed and then both removed, and the whole album with measurements of S8 exhaust..

More action videos to come...

Thanks a lot; the darn photo "album" was more work than the exhaust!

I have some more videos I'll add later which are much more interesting. I actually meant to start a new thread with a more accurate title with the above post, if so I'll link to it here.
