Default USB charging points retro fit
Hi all. First post on the forum. I am looking to get my first a8. On my last car before the woes of company cars I retro fitted USB chargers for the kids in the back. I fitted it in the centre consol with a neat little switch. Also one behind the glove box for the dash cam.

Have any of you done anything similar?

Hi and welcome. There is an intro section where it would be good to post info about your car etc and, of course post some piccies of your prospective or actual purchase. You will get LOTS of advice on purchase from folks on the forum if you need it too
As for D3 (?) electrics there will be, no doubt, some here who can advise.

I just keep a couple of Anker USB chargers in the car

Hi Andy; you may not be aware but A8s have a cigarette lighter in the front console and one in the back console. I regard these both as potentially dangerous, particularly with kids alone in the back.

I removed both lighters and replaced with them with Belkin 'cigarette to USB convertors' each of which had two USB charge connections. Thus, two people can be charging in the back at the same time

I did just that. Didn't know they had them in the rear. I'm thinking a couple in the rear door pockets would be handy.

Ive taken out the front lighter silent completely and made up a plastic filler plate then put the LPG on/off and led gauge there along with 2 USB sockets which is handy for people to plug in any charger leads they want. The USB sockets came as a pair wired through their own power management adaptor - I'll try and find the eBay link
