As of right now there isn't any water leaking problems as the tape for the Botang hole is holding up as I washed the old girl yesterday and didn't see any water inside.
She cleaned up nicely. I was looking to see if there is a way to only unbolt the exhaust manifolds so I can remove the cylinder heads to do this valve spring job. This is what the exhaust manifold studs and nuts currently look like ![]() I'm just losing any motivation to work on this car.

Stop working on it then. Put the front back on and get out and drive it
![]() The valve springs are just a precaution against the rare instance of them snapping yes? I would suggest you get it driveable and go and enjoy it for a while. Get out of the rut of aiming for perfection, and instead aim for working. Have some fun with it, and maybe look for a space where you can pull the engine to do the valve springs? |

I'm not aiming for perfection. Just trying to avoid a possible catastrophic failure.

It's about managing risks. I don't think spring failure is common on D2. I have not heard of any. Every job you do on car comes with it's own risks that something else will brake or get damaged while doing it, especially on a old car, like braking studs or bolts. I think the chance of spring failing is smaller than something else going wrong while changing them so I would leave them well alone.
