Default RNS-E navigation DVD 2011 version

Hi all

Just had a 2012 nav disc delivered, so my 2011 is going spare. PLEASE NOTE that this is a cloned disc so if you're not happy with that, don't offer to buy it lol Got this December last year so pretty much exactly 1 year of use but only a few thousand miles covered.

The Audi part number for the 2011 version is 8p0919884an and includes a firmware update to 0650 - note that if your current disc is pre-2005 then your old disc will become redundant as the firmware versions aren't backwards compatible. Installing the firmware can take a while so be warned!

Covers 'Europe Central-West' but I've never used it outside the UK.

Please note that with cloned discs the laser has a harder time reading the disc so I would strongly advise buying a reputable CD lens cleaner (not DVD!) - Richer Sounds sell one for a tenner that works perfectly - and be prepared to run it through the drive when needed. Mine started to struggle reading the DVD but has been perfect after a couple of cleans, having probably never been cleaned in the life of the RNS-E before.

The disc has no scratches and the only signs of wear are some cracks in the picture around the spindle but these can't be felt and I think are just down to the clamping mechanism of the drive holding the disc.

I'd like to get back some of what my 2012 disc has cost me so this is up for grabs for £15 including 1st class recorded post. Will accept paypal (as gift or you pay the fees) or direct bank transfer, cheque or cash on collection.

Any questions, drop me a PM and I'll get back to you.

Cheers

Adrian

Same place as the '11 disc - it's not as simple as cloning the disc, unfortunately. You require a specific burner, with specific firmware, specific dual layer discs which aren't easy to come by in the UK any more.....

If it were that easy I'd just download it from the many web sites advertising file sharing links for the discs and burn it myself

Drop me a PM if you want contact details - they charge more than £15 though

Adrian

Purely out of academic interest Adrian,....

Would you happen to know which 'burner(s)' & which discs are compatible, I've found a similar problem when backing up blu-ray discs, but have a solution on that front...

Thanks,

Richard.

http://gpsunderground.com/forum/audi...rns-e-dvd.html

I use portable lite-on burner, which connects via USB and doesn't require external power source. It costs pennies.

Default re:Navigation dvd copy

To make a backup copy...all one needs is a dvd writer that can change the booktype of the dvd to dvd rom and a dual layer dvd...

Once this is done its pretty much happy sailing from there.

There is a link on google somewhere that shows all suitable dvd writers....

I used the an lg liteon dvd writer and imgburn...to do the copying...works flawlessly.

I think anything from blu ray, playstation games and nav dvds can be copied this way...but I havent tried...
