Tippex marks would suggest it's had timing slightly out, which has caused a collision Might be a nice easy fix.. but a once over never hurts.

Ranj whilst everything is apart you may want to replace the cam chain variator/tensioner plastic shoes. Or at least examine them carefully to see how worn down they are and if they have any cracks. Defenitely not good to have those brake. They seem to get brittle with age.
