Park assist help
Hi, my parking sensors have never work since I've had the 8.
So thought I'd have a look see if I could find the problem. I ran VCDS-LITE and it came back with fault code: 01543-parking aid warning chime (H15) 31-00 open or short to ground On further investigation this fault seems to point to the sounder unit/speaker. Has anyone come across this problem before and solved it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. |

Hi Patdonn I have the same problem so I got a new warning speaker and fitted it! It's behind the instrument cluster fixed on a big aluminium sort cross beam extrusion I think I have a picture of it some where. Anyway that didn't cure mine so I tried the rear one its in the parcel shelf. I think it's under the blind cover.
That didn't fix it either so maybe it the wiring on mine or a dry joint in pdc ecu that's in the boot by the way under the cd multi changer. Mine still doesn't work but it has sprang back into life on several occasions Cheers dave

My pdc was still not working code reading said front beeper/ speaker tried replacement and that was no different all the wires and connections looked like new. So I bought a new pdc control box £28 new old stock genuine of ebay. it was actually cheaper than a secondhand one. Fitted it today and it works again!
I think it may be a dry joint on the circuit board as its sprang into life about three time on very hot days. Anyway it's fine now. Cheers Dave
