Default RNS-d vs MMI

Not really versus as it could be something I've missed or the MMI is lacking where the RNS-d had.

On the RNS-d you can set a start up volume, so not matter what volume you had the stereo at when turning the car off it will always start up in the same volume. Which is great so you don't deafen yourself first thing in the morning after a spirited drive the night before.
I can't find this option on the MMI.

If you set the RNS-d to map with no navigation it would display your current heading and road name in the DIS. You press the reset button on the stalk to switch between the RNS-d information or your DIS.
I miss this with the RNS-d.

Not really important but something I've noticed.
I don't have a start up screen on the MMI, it appears to always be on.
Is there one?

If there is, is changeable like the D unit?

MMI starts booting as soon as you unlock the car so its ready to go when you are, unless you force reboot the MMI you'll never see the startup screen.

The MMI will always default to the last volume setting of the key/driver who used it. If you leave the car and lock it, then your partner uses the car with a different key/fingerprint then their settings are recalled from memory. Each user has their own volume settings / radio presets and more.

I've not found a way to display data on the DIS other then when actually using the navigation function.

There is a startup screen on the MMI, but it never really resets so you see it rarely.

Not sure on startup volume, I think it just does the last one it was set to as it never really restarts.

The startup image is not a biggy but its good to know that its not always on I guess.

The volume thing is a bit annoying.
I've been use to getting out of the car with the volume at XX without having to worry about it being too loud in the morning.

The navi display in the DIS is a nice to have.

As already said, you will see the welcome screen only if you do a manual reset because it boots as soon you press engine start button, but I believe that welcome screen is gone by the time display will pop up as it takes quiet few seconds.
You can also change the welcome screen if you have ''Green Menu'' unlocked.

What annoys me here as well that maps/current position will not come on when you start the car and Nav was selected before locking the car. It always comes up with the blue menu (address, post code etc) so you always have to change to map manually. I do that all the time as menu is quiet outdated and the colors are pretty ****.
Also, for a change, I have maps set to night all the time as it makes it look a bit different, not necessary more modern than a standard theme, but different.

In regards to sound. What ever volume level was when I locked the car, it will be same when unlocking the car next morning. It is annoying especially if I like to pop out for an hour drive around 1 even 2am at night and listen to loud music. Not always as the note of my exhaust is quiet awesome so sometimes I just drive in complete silence, well with the exhaust in the background playing its own tunes.
It would be nice to set a volume level for each time you unlock the car.
