I actually found excuse to remove the front bumper and made the xenon replacement job a 5 minutes one

About the CAN BUS, well, I could argue here a little, I have quality £15 a pair can bus LEDS as sidelights along CREE LEDS as DRLS for something like 3 years now !!!
No issues with overheating and melting, and since having them wired together with DRLs they are always on from the moment you press START.

I also have CAN BUS LEDs fitted all over the car for almost 4 years now, and not a single issue, faulty LED, burned or overheated fitting. 4 years !!! and I spend a lot of time on many occasions working on some mods or whatever.

Yes, CAN BUS Leds are probably unnecessary, but I'm just speaking from experience.

Hello mate
No, if you bridge sidelight's positive wire with positive on DRLs(assuming you have DRL which you would on Bi-xenon headlights, and have P21W LED cree leds fitted as well as DRLs) then all you do is changing coding via VCDS in [09] from Bi-xenon with halogen drl lights to Bi-xenon with led drl light and that's it.
No errors, no resistors, and leds will also dim with main beam on as they to on oem led headlights.
