Fitting the final touches:
This is more like ming blue in real life - just the camera makes it look lighter Of course boot grommets A brake block, which does make the Brembos reasonably acceptable and of course a glovebox light, but I forgot to get a pic of that. That's it done for now This wasn't a full restoration, believe it or not, but just getting it in to a fit state to use. The interior and bodywork need lots of work, and the rear subframe needs doing at some point so those are jobs for next year. Despite that, I have 251 hours in to this one which is more than any other apart from my S8, Big Red, and Fritz (Bert's manual S8). The car is now going in to storage until travel restrictions are lifted so that Gareth can come and collect her. Last edited by MikkiJayne; 6th December 2020 at 09:47 AM. |

Spray the mould remover lightly on to the surface and let it work for 10-15 minutes, then wipe off with a damp microfibre and spray the upholstery cleaner lightly as well. Work that in with the brush, and then wipe off with another damp microfiber. This works on leather, vinyl, and headliner fabric but I haven't tried it on alcantara. With the headliner one has to take great care not to make it wet or use too much pressure as otherwise the foam backing will be damaged and either leave a mark or the fabric can sag. Headliners are pretty unpleasant to deal with tbh since they're delicate and upside down. |
