apologies to Captain for going off topic.
Nollywood sorry to bother you I found various spacers on ebay, mostly from S4's i'm really curious if yours off the manual S8 is the same part number considering they use essentially the same 01E gearbox. There are two different numbers I came accross for the spacer: 01E103551A 01E103551C Thanks |

There is no spacer ring between the S8 motor and transmission, the crankshaft boss is more recessed in relation to the cylinder block mounting face, on V8 engines. This means the spacer ring was made available by Audi, when other engines other than the 32/40V V8 blocks were fitted with the 01E. The Audi Ur S4 was fitted with the 01E, AFTER the 4,2 V8 in the original Audi V8 D11 chassis. So, the 01E was specifically designed for the V8 blocks, and needed no spacer ring.
