I replaced the standard Yokohomas with Bridgestones on my D3 S8.
They have not worn well, not quieter and I wasn't happy with the wet handling. I'm now halfway back to Yokahomas, with the final Bridgestone pair being replaced in the next month or so. Different size tyres on the S8 so maybe not a great comparison

I think i'd be right in saying that the Bridgestone S001's have an outside, so if you're having uneven wear you can't rotate the tyre on the rim. But you can move them around the car without having the tyre taken off.

Glyn, I've dropped you an email about these guys
http://www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk/ they have refurbed wheels for me and managed to true a wheel that my mother managed to impale on a concrete step. They have agents nationwide who will quote, forward to Pristine, un-mount and re-mount and balance wheels. Give 'em a call. Also onto tyres, I had Barum Bravuris 2's fitted last time after doing my research and finding that Barum is Continentals Czech brand. To date I have over 20K on the tyres and there's a good 2mm left before the bars so I'm expecting a good 26-27K. Though with driving style others may have different results - I do a lot of motorway and fast A road trips. They're no noisier than anything else I've tried and grip well HTH

I've just bought another set of Pirelli Pzero Nero for the 3.0tdi, the last set managed 44,000 miles and were all just at 2mm wear indicators when removed.
These are also far quieter than the previous Dunlop SP 9000's. |

They may foul the suspension but a 10mm spacer should sort that out.

Quote:
Just need to check they are strong enough to take the weight of a D3 (The weight should be stamped on them) Current Wheel Specs Width 9" Offset 44 mm (This is the spec of the 5 spoke wheels I had on my car) New Wheel Specs Width 8.5" Offset 48mm Results Inner clearance 2mm more (This means the wheel is 2mm further away from the suspension on the inside) Outer position 10mm further in (This means your wheel will sit in 10mm on the outside edge)

Cheers for that
Yes they are the ones Il see what I can find out on the weight I have a few pictures but nothing that looks like a weight measurement I'll ask though I assume this reduction of 10 mm is the result of the 1/2" width reduction so to keep the arch looking full a spacer would be a good idea.? I have struggled to find any wheels to fit the a8 which are genuine Audi models most around are from rs6's or a4s which have an offset in the 30's Contacted two firms to try and get mine straightened and neither returned calls or emails which doesn't bode well. Onwards and upwards Cheers Glyn |

What size are the wheels that you have on the car at the moment? (rim and ET)
