Nope 105K miles as I stated earlier.
(are you looking at the 1.8t A4 and getting confused? BUT see the *** comment)

So what do you do?
Believe Elsawin, believe Audi or just play safe?

Mine was done at 8 years old @ 36,000 miles, but my service book (AVP engine) states 80,000 miles.

I know for a fact that Audi regularly change intervals and add time based changes post-production so best bet is to ring Audi customer service for a definitive answer. I'd believe what Elsawin says in ainarssems post but would be nice if they quoted a time based change as well

I would guess 6-8 years depending on mileage and use

Another vote here for every 75k.

But why risk it, if in doubt, get it done

Question

Well I've had the car 5 years, done about 40k miles, and it was changed just before I got it. Sounds like I ought to get it done.

What do you reckon?

^^ wot he said, which I think is what Unit 20 also told me. Mine was done in Summer 08 @ around 40k, is now on 115k, so will be done again shortly, on the 80k rule, I think.

Always gone with 80k or 5 years. Which ever happens first.

have audi made any changes of this at late ?
the schedule I have for my 2000 3.7 shows 75k miles with no mention of age ...so wondering what i should do at half that mileage but 7 years

at the same time am wondering what tools are essential to change just the belt , my tame mechanic has never done one but I find it hard to believe that an experienced mechanic whould need the list of things I have seen as needed on a belt manufacturers site
