I agree with Andy - I was going to suggest club/collective ownership too (with me first!) but he beat me to it... It'd make a great demo car for forum meets/prospective owners...

To be honest - since we lost the wifes A8 D2, I have missed not having one on the drive, but funds are tight so no way could I afford to buy the car from A8Parts.

But I would be willing to put some money towards a draw to have the chance of getting the car

A predictable response from y'all (in my opinion anyway)

Given the amount of support for her, it seems the scrapping option is almost certainly not going to happen i'm sure you'll all (including me) be pleased to hear.

I've been looking into the compo option and that's a minefield of legislation by the looks of it. A simple 'sell 49 tickets numbered 1 to 49 @ £100ish a piece and see what next weeks bonus ball brings' is currently a popular car selling scheme, but it seems does technically need a gambling license to run, doh....

I'm happy to be corrected though if we have any legal eagles amongst us...

Will you get get 49 people that genuinely want, will keep it and take good care of it if they win? If somebody wins it and then sells it on to the wrong person soon after it might end up in scrapper after changing couple of hands anyway. I think it is best if it is sold to somebody who will appreciate it, take good care and keep it for as long time. I would not be able to keep another car and white is not my colour anyway so if I entered and won I would need to sell it on anyway so I think it's best if I not take part at all.

I think it's best to keep it until the right person shows up or see if you can work out a deal with Amanda.
