Think it goes along the lines of "if it ain't broken...."
3 presenters having a bit of banter, mix of high end stuff to drool over and down to earth stuff that is affordable and some fun with a celebrity in a reasonable car.
Cheese and the Ginger one have gone. Thumbs up from me

I enjoyed it. There was some positive chemistry between the presenters, and with confidence this could grow. The 'moon & back' mileage cars piece was good. All in all a success

The rotters. They mentioned Ronin...... and then showed an M5. Bah!

I enjoyed it too, was pretty good, and as said above we petrol heads are the winners in all this, we have two decent car shows now which must be better than the ****e that current dumbing down of TV has resulted in TBH

And Nick I agree, how could they mention Ronin and not show the S8...

I am pleased to say I liked it, although Harris doesn't seem to like the studio elements, he came across as stilted to me.
Overall 8/10 from me!

I've downloaded it but I haven't watched it yet. Might give it a go soon, although I still haven't watched a single episode of the first series yet either, despite having downloaded all of those too.

I see the new Top Gear as a replacement for Fifth Gear, which for me was one of those programs you watch last thing at night (on your own) when you can't sleep. By contrast, the old Top Gear and The Grand Tour are entertainment shows that SWMBO is happy to watch with me. Far-fetched, contrived and obviously scripted, but no more so than any other comedy show or sitcom and just as fun to watch. Fifth Gear was never something I rushed to download and watch, in fact I only recently finished watching the last few episodes. Since I've got no more of them to watch, the new Top Gear will probably fill that gap for me.

I agree about Harris, but that's why I like him and the new series. He seems to put the car driving experience (and his opinions on it) first, and the studio-based/"entertainment" aspects second - which is the way I like it.

This clip - old now - is a really good example of what he does: 10 minutes of well informed, but down to earth, opinion - without an ounce of ego weighting it down.

We are 4 episodes in and I am still watching! There were elements in the last one I didn't like (computer game sequence) but that was also true when Larry, Curly and Mo were presenting.

I think Matt LB is really growing into the presenting role, I bet he moves beyond Top Gear for the BBC.
