One possible option is to run an A8 gearbox, in the S8. This would give the desirable gear ratios, but I suspect you will also need to change the TCU, and in doing that you might have the gearbox throttling back the engine from its maximum 360bhp. An alternitive I've hypothesised in my own mind is to change the final drive ratios, ie the front and rear diff. This way, the gearbox input and output shaft will be in the correct ratios for the gears and you might get away with keeping the original TCU, and 360Bhp. But, you will then be travelling faster than the car thinks you are, or at least faster than the engine ECU thinks you are, which might be an issue if the instrument cluster speed is Engine ECU derived, which I think it is.... Then the ABS sensors will report a different speed to the Engine ECU thinks, so unless they do some clever self calibration between them like the Sat nav, then who knows what hell will break loose...

what about just changing from the standard 18" wheels to 20". would that make any difference ?

Amar already has the 20" wheels, but I can't imagine that would make any difference, and even if it did the rolling radius of the 20s (with lower profile tyres) will be very close to the 18s.
