Not a lot of use without an engine to sit on, but nice to stoke.

For the techies it's an Eaton 112 for a Jaguar.

Nice.

Want one.

Mike,

Do you have a spec on the engine yet?

Are you lowering the compression ratio and running high boost or leaving it standard with a lower boost?

Steve

hey mike, as i know you prefer gas/lpg over petrol and are looking for more power, look at this intake manifold setup made in new zealand. it's producing 1000hp on propane. compression ratio is 13.5 to 1.
and if you want to lower your compression for a supercharger, 034motorsport has 9.1 pistons for our 077 4.2's on the shelf, although a bit steep at £1300. john

Just a quickie on the subject of porting and polishing, my view would be to 'match' the manifolds to the head(s), and as far as polishing is concerned, leave it at an 'exhaust finish' if it is a road car engine as polishing (mirror finish) will probably be detrimental to performance (fuel drop out at anything other than high RPM)

I say this as I'm passing on the great Spike Anderson's (of Samuri datsun fame) advice when he built and modified a set of V8 heads for me some time ago.

Hope that's useful....

Just a quick update. The engine is being re-assembled and will be refitted in NA format on Monday. The porting and polishing includes matching the inlet and exhaust manifold but no lowering of compression.

Currently looking to run 6psi on propane in liquid form using and LPI sytem from Vialie, but there are issues to overcome here.

I'll post up some photos next week.

Thanks Night Train. The polishing won't be to a mirror finish as it's just not worth the effort. drop out won't be a problem as it will be running on liquid propane.
