I didn't buy an E39 M5, even though I wanted one as I know it will take the shine off the RS 6 (which has been a dream/obsession from 2002) the M5 overtakes the RS 6 at about 100 mph and beats the RS down the 1/4 mile as the quattro is eating up the power, the E39 interior is nicer and the handling in another league. Even though I hate to say it, probably a better car then the C5 RS 6.

Some great Comments.....

For me the B6 is truly a Classic and prices are coming into the affordable bracket as an/or more additional vehicle/s.

I love my B6 Cabriolet.....but only if it had an additional 2 pots in the Bay....
(Hence the plan to take it off the road for a year strip it down and turn it into a Show Car..... Motor Upgrade on the list)

I would put a B6 RS6 Avant in my Garage before any of the B7's.

Having said all that I wouldn't trade the S for nuthing.....

BMWs drive much better, engines are fantastic the interior quality is just as good as Audi now and it shows because they beat the equivalent Audi model in 99% of magazine tests. I know people used to joke about BMW drivers, but they have imo migrated to Audi now. So mocking BMW drivers whilst driving an Audi simply doesn't work! If it wasn't for quattro I probably wouldn't buy an Audi over a BMW ever again (excluding RS and 8 models)

Normal service resumed.

would parts and fuel costs be much more than an S8, cant believe it would use more fuel unless it runs on used tenners

I don't think fuel costs are anything to worry about, it's more economical then an S8.
