Default Different Indicator Stalk?

So, having had my new A8 less than a week - by far, the most disappointing / irritating thing is the horrible, cheap and nasty feeling to the movement of the indicator stalk. It's just so clicky/clunky - not at all befitting the rest of the car.

I'm sure my 2007 A6 wasn't like this. My 2010 Skoda is definitely much nicer - a more soft, and progressive feel, and not nearly so loud when you engage the switch.

To some, this may sound like madness - which it may well be.

However, i'm hoping it may be quicker, easier and cheaper to replace the indicator stalk rather than cure any mental deficiencies I may possess.

So - does anyone know of anything which can be done? Were the F/L stalks different?

Maybe it was replaced by aftermarket part at some point? Have you tried other 8's to see if it the same? I replaced it on A6 with aftermarket unit and it does feel cheap compared to OEM part but then again it was cheap to buy as well.

I think it's the original one - but I've not been in another A8, so can't compare.

I'll probably get used to it.
