Fair enough it sometimes ****es down for weeks up here in the world of Dez, maybe it’s Karma.

How about using a soft brush? Something like this http://www.towsure.com/category/6842...hrough_Brushes
I haven’t used one myself so don’t know what the bristles are like.

And I’m far too tight to use more than one bucket.

you may as well take a brillo pad to your paint work
The swirls will show up very quickly and will make your car look real dirty even if its been washed especially on a sunny day and especialy if your car is a dark colour.

My other car is a 45 year old Land Rover, I’m not used to having this paint stuff. I have so much to learn.

Buy yourself a sheepskin washmit to clean the car with, I use a sonus one from www.cleanyourcar.co.uk but any will do, you can get them in Halfords for about a fiver. I dry using a megs & sonus drying towel. Don't use a waterblade/chammy. Following them instructions with a good shampoo (I use duaragloss 901) and you should be fine.
