I trust you scanned this one while you were there lol

Spec does indeed look pretty comprehensive, bar upgrade wheels.

Presume it's had the box service to schedule?
They seemed to have prepared it on a budget. Not a good sign really. The tyres are proper crap. They're round and seem to fit. That's the upside.

I didn't scan it. I simply assumed any faults would be rectified at their cost, at my local dealer. Oh boy would I look forward to that...

Box had oil change at last service....

Permissible differences in tread depth

t Tyres of the same construction and tread pattern should always be used on all four wheels.

t The tyres with the deeper tread should always be fitted on the front wheels.

t It is basically possible to replace tyres individually. However, Audi recommends replacing at least both tyres on an axle at the same time.

I thought you said 3 tyres are the same and 1 is different, surely not the way to do it if they changed all 4 at the same time.

Not disagreeing with you. how the hell they dredged up 3 tyres of one brand, and 1 of another, new, is questionable indeed.

But, crucially, all new, so all 4 changed at same time, and all same tread depth, for about two minutes until a really, really cheap one wears faster than the really cheap one...

No way, Ian. I've always found the S5 Cab such an anti-climax to drive, but I assume you drove it if you travelled all that way. If I were you, I'd buy a B7 RS 4, you'll still release capital, and have a fun car to drive - and available as a cab.

Sorry

On a serious note, there is something about the cabrios and the wind in the hair. I do like them but in Coupe only, but thats about it. Sorry
For me there are two things which put me off:
- handling as mentioned earlier
- the dash which reminds me very much A6s and Q7s which is dislike a lot only because of that hence I wouldn't own one, interior feel is very important to me, same as exterior and driveability.

But, this has been mentioned hundreds of times on the forum, all what matters is what you like and want, we can only chip in few pence and that's about it.

I do like them in black, quad exhaust and spec

I hope it all goes well with RS6 and you won't have to do the black friday discount as this car is well worth the money !!!

Good luck Ian

That's the B8 and if an auto it's s-tronic dual clutch

Depending on the map you can gain almost 50% on stock power but fuel consumption is pretty horrid even when stock! Fuel tank is tiny on them too...

Seem to fill our S5 Sportback every 200 miles

After a year on nagging, I managed to get my mate to buy B7 RS4 57plate, £22k
What a car !!!!!!!
Juicy and a bit outdated, but in all honesty if my choice was narrowed down to two cars only in same price range, this S5 and older RS4 then there is only one winner.

But looking from Ian's point of view, if it's same money so no savings on the initial purchase, maybe few k's if not bothered with less mint car, RS4 isn't the most economical car so kind of missing a point here.
But another but is that I can't see S5 being that much more economical than RS4
