OK, I've been researching this topic for a while and ended up stumbling across an answer from Honest John, who recommended someone for Transmission servicing in Surrey - King Automatics (www.kingautomatics.co.uk).

I sent an email enquiry and got a reply from a different garage in Wimbledon. He said this was their new name. (www.wimbledonautomatics.co.uk) The guy really sounded like he knew his stuff - he knew to use the correct LG fluid. He quoted me £270 to change the fluid and filter in the S8. When I enquired about the sucky/blowy thingy, he responded that the machine works by adding pressure at the cooler line to flush the fluid through. He was happy to do it for an additional £70 (IIRC) to cover the additional fluid required.

He said it would take a couple of hours for the Volvo and a little longer for the Audi.

I should point out that he quoted me a cheaper rate because I wanted to have both the Audi and the Volvo done.

Has anyone heard of them/used them?

Thanks for the check, that's useful information.

I was amazed by the reviews they get on Google too. There's only 15 of them, but they're positively glowing... I just hope the didn't write them themselves!

Expensive though. IIRC, Mackies is around £160 for the full treatment.

That is D2 price, Mackies charge around £500 for D3.

If anyone fancies saving money on the ATF, I found found the Mannol AG60 works great to replace the green G060/ZF Lifeguard 8 and is their clone of LG8.
I bought 10 x 1 litres from oel guenstig.de on ebay for under £45 delivered from Germany! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252228849432
Did two exchanges at the weekend using these instructions...
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...TF-Replacement but didn't remove pan and filter, I will do that next year.
Mannol also do an AG55 which is a clone of G055/Lifeguard 6
The old oil was a mixture of Audi G060 and something red that Oakdene's Autos put in.

Good find, they sell filters as well, they do not have one listed for PF D2 car but 20l of fluid + filter for FL come to only £68 delivered. Might just give it a go at this price, I have e-mailed to see if they can supply oil filter for my car.

What happened to the fella in Swindon or thereabouts that was doing the gearbox servicing? He posts on here doesn't he? I was going to give him a try nearer the time mine needs doing...

Daviesbike I think his name is. I did PM him about getting mine done but didn't hear back - he does seem to get good reviews though.

I don't think he's doing business anymore.
