Default 4 wheel alignment

After a pothole disaster within a week or so of moving, I've had the wheel straightened but now want to get the alignment done.

Can anyone recommend someone who can do this in the Grantham/Melton Mowbray/Nottingham (east or south) area?

Thanks

See what happens when you move! The roads up here are just soooo good. Went to Loch Fyne the other day for lunch and its excellent black top all the way

I hope you've made a claim.

Friend of mine recently had a wheel damaged (beyond repair) by a pothole and managed to get the cost of a new wheel and suspension re-alignment back from the council. I believe the pothole has to be a certain depth and you'll need photos of it too.

The amount of claims they get, I'm sure it'd be a lot cheaper to repair the damn potholes

I know others will disagree, but I've always found my local Kwikfit and their Hunter rig very reliable - and maybe a chance to get to know them?

Worth doing, but don't expect them to settle quickly - it took my council about 4 years, but in end they paid up for the wheel, tyre, and suspension joint - which is also worth checking for damage.

Potholes are a plague on Britain's roads. The Local Government Association claims it would take 14 years to clear the backlog of potholes, despite councils filling in almost two million per year, and the Government has pledged six billion over the next five years to try and tackle the problem.

Shame they have no money to repair all the potholes, eh!.

Hey, I know! ... We should all give a donation to help them out. If every car owner just gave a few hundred quid each year, they'd have more than enough money to properly maintain every single road in Britain!

No, wait!

I found the same with my local KwikFit. I had been to a ProTyre centre previously but still found it wasn't 100%, after KwikFit I've not had any issues. I was offered a deal too where you can pay ~£100 and have as may adjustments as needed for (I think) a year.

Kwik-fit is a lotterry - most branches i think have the hunter rig, but many of the techs there I reckon don't have a clue how to actually do the adjustments properly.

I think you hit the nail on the head there - even my trusted local tyre place messed it up once and a car had to go back, now I just insist on the guy that knows it best and always gets it right, but its always going to be a lottery unless they have had FULL training and regular use of the kit
