I confess, I was shocked (bad pun sorry) how little leccy the heating / cooling seems to take.

Yes, I've read stories where people turn it off, put in a coat and 'enjoy' a few more miles per charge, but really its a nonsense, there is plenty of charge for most journeys and plenty of superchargers for the long haul.

Oh, and my car lives at home connected to the mains, so all heating / cooling is done with no impact on charge.....

Slightly back on track - Nice to see the Aux heating mod done on the D3. For the sake of a single pump and some pipes, Its a bit of shame that it wasn't just included as standard, but then it would make the diesels have more standard kit than the 'luxury petrols' and we couldn't be having that....

It was a factory option, but not in the UK brochure as we're not considered a cold climate.

The webasto heater was already present on the Diesels as its used to warm the coolant faster in cold weather to produce warm air in a reasonable time.

This isn't needed on the petrols, so the retrofit is quite a bit more complex as you need a petrol webasto heater first, and then the aux heater pump for the coolant.

Don't for get extra fuel line as well, not sure if the fuel pump is integrated in heater or if you need extra fuel pump too.

Good point, as the petrols heat up much quicker probably not required. Might just look at the heated windscreen retrofit that is still on my list
