Default Replacement for my 2002 S8

My old friend (171K and other than a new gearbox last year - a faithful friend) is being replaced by this

It s a 2010 4.2 TDI, just an SE, but with extended leather and the alcantara roof, rear comfort pack, DAB radio and freeview TV. If it lasts as well as my D2, I'll be well pleased.

Very impressed by the interior quality and the grunt!

Thanks for that.

Really wanted another S8 but I can't justify the fuel bill.

This is my first diesel and it's 45-50MPG on a long run is very persuasive!

Looks good - and the consumption for a 4.2 is indeed good. Its the thing that keeps getting brought by SWMBO up about the S8...

Especially as, this Friday I am driving from here to Okehampton and Southampton/Portsmouth.

I hear what you are saying on that front! I had my S8 on LPG and it gave me 17-20MPG on that which was bad enough!

I must get that tidied up and sold at some point as I'm going to use the money for some 20" wheels for the new jalopy.

Lol

you do have to remember that the SE is poverty spec for an A8, albeit all things are relative I suppose!

It's got some great spec though, it does look really lovely.

What wheels are you thinking of, genuine Audi I hope?

It's hardly poverty spec lol you've got to remember that on the D4 for that period you just had the SE and the SE Executive and the SE was a pretty good spec to begin with!!!
