I just switched from Sky to Chris Knott, they undercut Sky renewal quote from £445 to £400. May be worth giving them a ring they were very pleasant to deal with.

Flux, Admiral, and others were very lacking in understanding towards a LHD S8 and quotes silly prices over £1000

So the same company mirrors NCD for one policy holder but tells another "no can do"

The one constant in insurance "rules" seems to me to be that they are too complex for the public to understand, or possibly that they are made up on the spot to serve the needs of the company at that time

Indeed. Just rang directline and they said they do not mirror NCB... however after applying multicar discount the cost came down another £55.

I've used Clegg Gifford for a number of years now. They have a proper family fleet policy - You pay a premium to add drivers, but then adding cars / vans etc is cheap as chips.

Its rare that adding a car on costs me any more than a £25 admin fee.

They've covered everything I've thrown at them without quibble, including the remapped RS6.

If you only have 1 more vehicles than drivers, the savings might be borderline, but upwards of that and your usually quids in.

I've got 3 cars insured, one risky (track), the other classic (cab) and both together come to about the same as what I pay for the S8 - which means I drop £800 a year on insurance

I spoke to my insurers about this last year, Liverpool Victoria, and they told me they would mirror my main car NCD on the weekend toy I was considering at the time

That's an interesting option, may I ask how much you pay per annum? My motorbike insurance is up for renewal soon and that could be included as the 4th vehicle.

I think it worked out around £1200 for me and wife, 3 cars and a van totalling around 50K of cars on the drive.

Its the collective theft risk that drives any uplift in premium, but any uplift is usually quite trivial.

That's fully comp, windscreen cover, business use, protected no claims on clean licenses.

Effectively £600 each I'm quite happy with for the flexibility it brings.

I have never found the multi car things competitive at all, I usually do a comparison check each year as I am sure some of them discount on first year, hoping you forget to cancel the auto renewal

Anyway one of the few benefits of being ancient is I only pay around £750 a year for all three of mine for me and the other half

I have found that though I am officially retired, though I do continue to pretend that I am working, by putting chauffer down it knocks a fair bit off the quote.
I'm currently with Zurich but they wont continue after 79 years of ancient. Shame really 'cos they were the first I ever had at eighteen and in BAOR. No I have not been with them all that time, we change as the price fluctuates.
