Off to plymouth Audi on friday for one last attempt to see the After sales manager and get a price on a gearbox service.
If that's as bad as it has been the last 2-3 visits I'll be going to Audi Exeter next time I'm free.

So, a quick update.

Went to Bexley Audi last week and got some answers.

I asked straight away for the man in charge of the whole circus after half star service I received last time from the bodyshop guys.

So, it took them good 15-20min to figure out what was going on, they were running up and down, back and forward, but I finally got the answer.

Claim has been rejected by the factory as they suspect is not corrosion (12year warranty) but paint defect which is only 3 years

Anyway, I called Audi Customer Relations to escalate it further. They have assign a Personal Claim Manager and from now on he will be dealing with my claim. Spoke briefly with him yesterday and we will have a meet and proper chat this Friday.

Interesting thing I've been told (well not really and it makes sense) by Customer Relations. Loyalty. Guy said it plays a big role when it comes to claims like that. Sometimes even if it's a paint defect after warranty they may still do it if you are loyal to Audi (keep servicing and repairing car with them). As I serviced car with Audi only for first 5 years and then I switched to independent specialist, this does make me a customer they are not really interested in looking after, even if I still buy parts from them.

This could explain why Lincoln Audi resprayed my mates D3 with exactly same problem. As he has no independent specialist in Lincoln, therefore he has no other choice than keep servicing car with them, so that makes him loyal and thats how probably he got his roof resprayed.

Will see if I get anywhere with my ''Personal Claim Manager'', I don't think so to be honest, but will keep you updated.

Thanks for the update.

I've heard that about loyalty before and how big a part it plays.
I got full main dealer servicing at the moment and thats the main reason why I'm happy to pay dealers prices for servicing for now.

Got some more bits to shift on my old A4 then its off to Audi for AC service, Oil service and hopefully gearbox service at the same time as asking about the paint work.

Hopefully you will get a good result from your ''Personal Claim Manager'' but if was he says is true about loyalty, I'm not sure how it will end.

Don't let it go. Under the sale of goods act 1979 i beleive they have to prove the problem is not connected not just say or guess it's not. Otherwise they could just say "it's your fault therefore it's not covered"
Have a look at you Statatory Rights and the Sale of Goods Act. If they still refuse you can have someone else repair it and claim the cost back from them, but you may have to go through the courts to get the cash from them. But it's all in place to stop the bully tacktics often used.

They talk aload of boll*** most the time, you say they're only interested in loyal customers but why would you give them any business when they act like that? Where is their loyalty to you, the customer, the customer that chose that car over another make, and how are they going to try and keep your custom? Tell them straight that you'll definatly not be looking at their brand next time round when it comes to changing.

This is not about the Sale of Goods Act, unless you purchased the car from new. If you bought it new (or used, from Audi), you have a contract with Audi. If you bought privately or a non Audi dealer, you have no contract with Audi, and thus no "privity of contract".

What you are instead reliant upon, is the 12 year transferrable corrosion warranty. This is transferrable because (presumably) it is industry standard, increases the re-sale value of the brand (and thus makes more people buy into it).

So, what you need to do is obtain a copy of the corrosion policy wording applicable to the vehicle when it was first sold. Audi should be able to provide you with this. If they can't, hard to see how they'd defend any claim based on the terms it contains!

Then, send it to me, and I'll have a look over it for you, we'll have a chat, and decide what to do. Trust me I'm a lawyer.

Dezzy, I wouldn't give up at this stage, never, it's not me
And exactly, where is their loyalty to the customer

Dan, I appreciate that

I will throw all that stuff at the 'personal claim manager' when I actually see him, I think its better this way than talking to people who just log the calls over the phone.

What Bexley Audi was trying to ''suggest'' is that this is a paint default which is covered only for 3 years only. Also they were suggesting that stuff around the windscreen is caused by motorway use and stones, but when I asked about exactly same bubbling on driver's and passenger's doors, then suddenly they were unable to 'produce' any further b@l@x

Dan, again, I appreciate that very much and will get back to you as soon I meet with the 'personal liar'

PS. Spoke to Carsten, he says Thank You once again for your business and will let you know asap about the rear disc
